Dance Background: I grew up dancing at Velocity Dance and Theater for 6 years and joined Edina Dance Team freshman year.
Favorite EDT Memory so far: My favorite EDT memory was making it to finals for kick my junior year. It was so exciting to make program history and to do that amazing dance one last time with my best friends.
Favorite Part of Competition Day: My favorite part of competition days is right before we walk on the floor. It is so fun to do all our different handshakes and traditions with our team. I love the adrenaline I have, and I am always so excited to hear everyone cheering as we walk on the floor.
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I have learned how to be a supportive teammate, and how important hard work is to accomplish your goals not only as a dancer but as a person.
Advice to my EDT Teammates: My advice is to take everything in and to work hard. Your years on EDT will fly by quicker than you know. Create friendships with everyone on the team, and have good connections with your coaches, they're great role models for everyone.
My EDT Legacy: I want to be a good role model for all of my teammates. I want to show that hard work pays off and that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to with a good work ethic.
My Dreams/Plans for the future: I want to attend a college and possibly major in business or marketing.
Reese Burnham
Fun Fact: My sisters and I have a goldfish that is eight years old!
Dance Background: I started off dancing at Dance Xchange when I was two years old, then when I was five I moved to Platinum Dance Center and spent nine years dancing there. When I was in eighth grade I began EDT on JV and freshman year I made Varsity and have been here since!!
Favorite EDT Memory so far: I think my favorite memory with EDT so far was when our names were announced for kick finals proving to us that all of our hard work has paid off!
Favorite Part of Competition Day: The bus ride is probably my favorite part. It's so much fun to just decompress and talk to teammates a bit before we go into the school and are in the zone until we go on!
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I have learned that working hard is not always the easiest path but it is the most rewarding in the long run!!
Advice to my EDT Teammates: Enjoy every single moment because in a blink of an eye you’ll be a senior and all of your lasts of high school will be happening. Also approach everything that you do in and out of practice with enthusiasm and passion!
My EDT Legacy: My legacy is to inspire others to push through and persevere through whatever life throws at you!
My Dreams/Plans for the future: I plan on attending college somewhere in Minnesota studying either Business or a Physical Therapy track! I’m hoping to continue my dance career in college as well!!
Lily Hang
Fun Fact: When I was younger I was a model and was in two commercials!
Dance Background: I grew up dancing at Victoria Dance Productions and have been dancing there for 16 years! When I was in 7th grade I joined the EDT family!
Favorite EDT Memory so far: My favorite EDT memory so far was kick state 2023! Hearing our names called for finals was such a surreal moment and one that I will cherish forever. At that moment all of our hard work had paid off!
Favorite Part of Competition Day: My favorite part of competition day is the bus rides! I love getting to talk with teammates on the way to the school and listen to music with my bus buddy!
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I have learned the importance of being a supportive teammate. Being there for my teammates when they need it the most and how to build strong and positive connections with everyone around me.
Advice to my EDT Teammates: My advice to all of my teammates is to never take any moment for granted. While not every moment is going to be perfect or easy it is all worth it in the end. Don’t stress about all the things to come, but instead live in the moment and soak everything up! Your time on the team will fly by so fast and you don’t want to miss anything!
My EDT Legacy: I want to leave behind my positive, encouraging, and supportive attitude!
My Dreams/Plans for the future: I plan to attend a university and study Business.
Lauren Leiker
Fun Fact: I have only ever missed one dance team practice since I have been on the team!
Dance Background: I grew up dancing at Prairie School of Dance for 14 years and started dancing on Edina Dance team my freshman year!
Favorite EDT Memory so far: I loved walking onto the state floor my sophomore year and being able to dance at the target center in front of so many people. Additionally, I love having our team dinners the night before our big competitions as we fuel for the next day and get to spend time with each other.
Favorite Part of Competition Day: My favorite part of competition days is listening to the sound of our parents and the crowd cheering as we walk on and off the floor while hearing our names called by the announcer. I also love celebrating with my teammates after awards because all our amazing hard work is paying off!
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I learned to embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm, stay committed, support my teammates, and to strive for improvement rather than perfection.
Advice to my EDT Teammates: Don’t be afraid to try new things, take risks and put yourself out there! Be outgoing and aspire to become a better version of yourself as a dancer and person each day.
My EDT Legacy: I want my EDT Legacy to inspire all my teammates to persevere through the hard moments and cherish every personal victory big and small: be proud of yourselves!
My Dreams/Plans for the future: My plans for the future are to attend a University, to continue my education, as well as hopefully continue my dance journey and training into college.
Kate McCleary
Fun Fact: When I’m not dancing I love hanging out with friends, watching the sun set, and listening to music.
Dance Background: I grew up dancing at Platinum dance center for 11 years before joining the Edina dance team family my freshman year!
Favorite EDT Memory so far: My favorite memory on the dance team was my first year going to JFK because it was so fun being able to bond with my teammates and share so many fun memories with everyone!
Favorite Part of Competition Day: my favorite part of the competition day is all the team rituals we have before we go on the floor because it’s a special time where we get to connect and bond as a team.
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I’ve learned that it’s always important to be yourself and do your best because your best is enough
Advice to my EDT Teammates: Keep pushing yourself to do your best and always go to every class with positivity and kindness.
My EDT Legacy: I want to leave behind my kindness and energy.
My Dreams/Plans for the future: I plan to attend a University and study kinesiology or forensics. I also hope to continue my journey of dance in college.
Molly McGrane
Fun Fact: I love to travel and have been to 11 different countries!
Dance Background: I grew up doing competition dance at platinum dance center for 10 years before joining the EDT family!
Favorite EDT Memory so far: My favorite memory so far was my very first performance with EDT at Hopkins showcase. It was so fun getting to dance with my team for the first time and be embraced by the dance team community.
Favorite Part of Competition Day: My favorite part of comp day is visualizing. I feel like it really helps connect us as a team and turn nervous energy calm!
What I have learned from my time on EDT: I have learned how to be a great teammate by showing up everyday ready to work hard and always being there for one another.
Advice to my EDT Teammates: TAKE CLASS! There are so many great options for additional training and my advice is to keep dancing in the off season and use time off to improve and come back to EDT stronger the next season!
My EDT Legacy: I want to leave behind my passion and drive for success and improvement.
My Dreams/Plans for the future: I plan to attend a university and study Pre-Med and minor in dance. I also Dream of dancing in college and continuing my dance journey.
